I agree abolishment of the city attorney's office seems like a poor idea, but I'm a little confused by the premise of this story. City attorneys aren't the ones who decide to prosecute crimes, as I understand it. City attorneys represent the interests of the city like in-house attorneys do for their companies. District attorney is the role that determines prosecutions. Unless it works differently in Seattle for some reason.
It was a top two primary and Thomas-Kennedy got 33% of the vote. We can only hope that this was just a case of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers splitting the sane vote and that this freak will once again only garner 33%.
Beyond that I desperately hope that this disease doesn’t move east. Our mayoral primary in Boston just rejected one anti-police candidate and I’m praying that the centrist who got in takes the progressive out in November.
