So the person who made AOC's tax the rich dress, is well off, but owes back taxes in several states and at the national level too.

She has had 15 tax warrants in New York alone for failing to withhold taxes from her employees and owes over $100K to the Feds where the IRS placed 6 liens against her company for failing to withhold employee payroll taxes.

Her principal home is also behind in property taxes. 2 past landlords have sued her for failing to pay rent.

She has also been fined by the government for not paying in to workers compensation (behind by $63K), despite publicly arguing for a bigger social safety net.

Meanwhile she has taken tens of thousands of dollars in covid pandemic relief.

Yet, she found $35K to attend the MET Gala and has donated thousands to democrats.

I wonder who if anyone paid taxes on the 35k to her get into the MET Gala. Arent those in attendance to very ones that are expected to "pay their fair share"? I get the feeling anyone in attendance at that Gala will never pay their fair share according to the Leftists.

For folks like AOC and such leftist "dress designers," their words and actions are 180 degrees out of phase.

The dress only said "tax the rich".

It didn't say they should actually pay the bill.

Seriously though, what a hypocrite.

Sorry, Michiganmoon, but I can't help but ask if you were similarly worked up over the huge New York Times exposé about the way the Trump family has been dodging taxes for over a half-century. Oh, you didn't read it? Maybe you should.

Also, do you have any proof that she spent $35,000 on a ticket? I'm guessing she got in for free.

Obviously, she behaved badly and is going to regret the way the good publicity brought her the bad attention. But you could have made the same point without your underlying bias showing so obviously.

Nice deflection.

Trump brags about dodging taxes using loop holes. He is open about it. If a court proves he owes money and doesn't pay it, I will condemn that. It is indisputable that Aurora Jamesnowes these taxes.

Aurora James literally dodges taxes illegally. Not just 1 type of tax, but at least half a dozen different taxes she avoids.

She avoids taxes while asking for more taxes (she is the 1%). Hypocrite.

She avoids multiple taxes taxes that specifically fund social safety nets (workers comp, social security, Medicare, and medicaid) while claiming she wants more taxes to fund the social safety net. Hypocrite.

She is a massive hypocrite. Don't you agree? Yes, as a tax dodger, she behaved badly, but also hypocritcally.

Well someone at the Post did their homework.

I did not poll. If the allegations are true, she is a criminal.

Fashion designers are notoriously lousy money managers. Maybe one of the Hollywood celebs she designs for will hold a fund raiser.

Link makes clear designer’s boy friend picked up her tab.

I caught a glimpse on the news of someone fawning over the costumes worn to this gala. Hands down, AOC’s costume was tame by comparison. It is common for designers to comp a celebrity attire, just for publicity.

Think this designer got more publicity than she expected.

Link says designers BF paid for ticket.

It’s a curious thing how our culture tends not view tax cheats and shop lifters alike.
