I frequently keep asking myself: what is our covid end goal?
If our goal is zero covid then its possible but we need an Aussie/Kiwi approach. Vaccines dont stop the spread so it would need to be permanent isolation.
If our goal is to make covid like a common cold, child vaccinations make no sense. Masking and social distancing no longer make sense. The only thing that matters is hospital capacity. If hospitals are able to cope, there should be no measures at all. Deaths can be avoided by vaccinating the elderly and high risk but until enough immunity is built up, we need younger and healthy people to get the virus so the body learns to fight it. The mRNA vaccines simply give the body the tools to help fight the virus but it is not a sterilizing, no transmission immunity.
It seems like there are a lot of contradictions and a lack of direction in how the virus has been handled. Biden was supposed to have had a plan but it seems his plan was banking on the vaccines providing sterilizing immunity. Now that this has been proven not to be the case, we no longer have a covid end game.
Having an end goal and a persuasive argument to go with it is critical to get those skeptical to buy in. We are demanding people to take vaccines now and the messaging says that this will be a permanent every six month things with endless masking requirements. This isnt a way to manage a pandemic.
The end goal is to get everyone vaxxed and call it good (while people still get covid and die from it) that way they'll never have to own up to what catastrophic failure the official response was.
Forge ahead, dont look back, never admit failure, double down on it all if need be.

There is no end. Every time they just move the goal posts. They can never give a definitive answer. That is why trust in our government is in the gutter.

You automatically infer a nefarious plot because the government has no idea what it’s doing?
Damn. Here I am over here getting nervous when government actually does something right/fixes a problem.

To get through a pandemic as quickly and safely as possible. It took three years to get through the 1918 pandemic. Looks like U.S. deaths are near what they were back then.
Covid end goal is to keep the fear mongering as long as possible and take as many freedoms away as possible. A lot of money to be made.
I disagree, back when businesses were shut down and many people staying home, eventually cities and states rescinded the orders to shelter in place or stay at home...
If a govt is wanting this extreme level of control, why would they give our freedoms back shortly after? (when they could have justified keeping everything closed for much longer)
Ive never seen a govt go tyrannical, but then give the citizens their freedoms back...that doesnt make logical sense.

Covid is nowhere near Spanish Flu levels. The Spanish Flu didn't discriminate against age, Covid however does. Additionally we have politicians (AOC) and the Democrats requesting that anyone who had a loved one die since Covid go back to have their death certificate amended so they can receive $9,000 and keep this whole scam alive.
