So 61% pay ZERO FEDERAL INCOME TAXES and Biden and the Democrats want to greatly increase entitlements, so it could get worse.
Do you think it's fair that 39% pay for 100% of the tax revenues? Are you part of the 61% who pay nothing or the 39% who pay for everyone?
Please leave out discussion of all the other taxes. This thread refers only to federal income taxes.
Please also leave out your flat rate tax ideas. Those have been discussed ad nauseam.
And if you think the 39% aren't paying enough, how much should they pay?
Is this system sustainable? Are a percentage of the 39% going to stop working altogether?
It means the dems are halfway to creating a socialist state. The masses think they pay federal taxes because they see them deducted from their paycheck and they file income taxes each year. But they don't comprehend that perhaps the amount they receive back in their refunds, combined with government rebates, services, and welfare payments is more than they paid in taxes. Even at the state level, they will send their kids to school, and never pay even close in taxes, what it costs to educate their kids.
Well, I will tell you what I wouldn't do. I wouldn't increase our corporate tax rates. That is a gift to China. Remember how many companies brought manufacturing back to the US when the Trump corporate tax cut went into affect? Hint: When Biden raises them, the opposite happens.
Increasing taxes or doing anything to hamper our economic recovery, during a freaking pandemic no less, is sheer insanity. And yet it what Biden and the dems seek to do. WHY???

Because the Democrats love their communist comrades in China.
Truth be told, different communist parties often hate each other more than they hate the capitalists. The reason they are doing it is because the Democrats are the communists and have the same ideology - hating the rich and detesting the poor.
Yep, and the democrat elite like the money they make from basically Chinese slave labor. Democrats fight for the working man/women? Please… When was the last time the democrats did something for the working men and women of America? The only thing they do is take from them and give to those who don’t want to work. Has been that way for 3 decades or more.
I would say essential workers having "living wage" skills, wouldn't you?
If we can't live without them, even in a pandemic, I'd say they bring to the table a very desirable skillset.
No, not necessarily. If the market for brain surgeons was overloaded with 2 surgeons for every 1 openings, brain surgeon salaries would plummet.
You see, the price for everything, including labor services are determined by two, and only two factors.
Supply
and
Demand
IF the supply of essential workers exceeds the demand for them, then wages will plummet.
Simple economics.
Eventually, some of the essential workers will realize there are greener pastures elsewhere and the supply will come more into balance with demand, and then, presto, the wages will escalate.
I do not believe that Mexicans are lazy. They just come here and get a lot of government benefits for which they pay no taxes. And they do bring in a lot of crime along with the drug industry. Not all, but some.
Nobody is working hard, full time, wrecking their knees and backs for the profit private businesses. None. There's no such thing. It's your complete fabrication of reality.
Everybody is working hard for benefiting himself or herself!!!
Everybody, either taking a job or running a business, is doing it for themselves.
How is “essential worker” defined? That phrase is getting thrown around a lot, but is it that meaningful? Who is not essential? Have so called non-essential workers not been working just as hard? Are these workers truly not-essential? Minimum wage adjusted for inflation should be about $11. I’m good with that. I’m not saying keep it at $7 and change.
People don’t just work to enrich the top. They work to enrich themselves. If they want to be the owner then go start a business. Without business owners most would not have jobs. Owners take on the risk and do the hard work of starting businesses.
Modern society is weak today. Nobody works as hard nor in the kind of conditions they did in the past (outside of isolated places in China and undeveloped countries). We have gotten soft.
"Minimum wage adjusted for inflation should be about $11."
With the very varied Cost of Living throughout the U.S, a 1 minimum wage is asinine.
lol...what a stretch to make socialism sound great.
People get paid what the market determines they are worth.
Then why are we having to subsidize so many workers with food stamps, Medicaid, housing assistance, education assistance, etc.?
The pay has been kept stagnant - while the government social programs have grown and grown. That's not the "free market" at work.
We can count on company bean counters to loosen the purse strings and pay people more to go to work, no matter the skill level, or we can pay for their living expenses ourselves out of our taxes.
Do you not think there are some multi-millionaire/billionaire CEO's making far more then they are really worth?
