It is what it is. They don't want the shots. The employees don't seem resistant to getting tested regularly, so they should just test them and stop with all the finger wagging. There are few people who want to do the awful job of nursing home work. It is backbreaking, filthy, depressing, and low paid. We should give these people a parade, not fire them.
And saying it 'came in with every shift' unfairly demonizes the health workers. The virus is in the air, the urine and feces, wastewater, and everywhere. They also shipped infected patients back into nursing homes, causing outbreaks.
You don't have a person in a nursing home right?
So keep testing and then -- oops you are positive but you have been caring for patient A who is 90....and even if that patient is fully vaccinated -- likely to get sick and die from it...given the odds.

I did have someone, but he's dead now, not related to NY's Covid policies, but related to medical error in a poorly staffed facility.
Testing is actually the ONLY way, even if imperfect. Vaccinated people can still spread Covid. So if you limit the workforce to vaccinated only, and don't test, then Covid is still getting in.
No one is 'expendable' but if they fire 25% of the workforce, the residents who die from neglect and medical error, like my family member, will be the 'expendable' ones. Nursing home residents are very frail, and can die from many things besides Covid that tend to happen when staffed with new, incompetent, or too few workers.
Does anyone have a clue as to how they will replace the workers, and what happens in the interim?
You are assuming the health care workers have some kind of medical background.
Health care workers can be a doctor for sure -- but it also can be the lady who brings you lunch, mops the floor, does admin. work...with little to no medical expertise.

They send a nurse in to ask you questions and take vitals, then take that info and look it up on their version of Web MD, then come in, ask the same questions plus a few others then go back to their computer to narrow things down more.
You can do the same thing at home, then go to the doctor and tell them what you need so they can run whatever test or write whatever script.
THAT'S all they do!

Assuming this movement is being run by deep state actors, theyll be able to put a lid on this pretty quickly.
Ok I read the article... They are upset because their own vaccine mandate is going to cause major staff shortages when they get fired....well cry me a river you morons. Since the vaccinated often turn into super spreaders themselves, I fail to see what you actually accomplish firing unvaccinated workers, especially if they already got covid and recovered. Nobody benefits from these mandates.

Here in WA the gov. had set a deadline of Oct. 18 for state workers to be vaccinated or lose their jobs. The state public sector unions rebelled, and the gov backed down. The new deadline is sometime in Dec.
The main issue appears to be people who have already had covid and thus feel they don't need the vaccine, and therefore don't want to risk any side-effects.
This is the only disease I have heard of where having the disease didn't count you as immune.

Medical researchers...who are specialists...they are a bit less controlled by big pharma so I still tread lightly.
Their answers are always drugs, long term.
I use them as a temporary fix until I can figure out what natural remedy can replace the drugs.
Most of what doctors do today is treat symptoms, NOT cure diseases like they did in the past.
Your side LOVES reverting back to the Polio thing, which is a success story from a time when CURING was the goal. Now, big pharma figured out it's way more profitable to treat symptoms and never cure. If you CURE someone you lose a patient.
