Anybody watch CNN this morning? They had some guy on discussing the 30% increase in murders this last year, and he basically blamed law abiding gun owners. (Though not in so many words.)
The ghist that I got was, most gun crimes (murders) are committed with illegal / stolen weapons.
Therefore "gun violence" and murder is actually the fault of legal gun owners who's guns are stolen by criminals.
So it goes to reason that if lawfully armed citizens were denied the right to own guns and guns were confiscated from legal owners, then criminals wouldn't have as many guns available to steal - hence crime should drop.
Excuse me while I go beat my head against a wall. I thought even Gumby would have trouble stretching that far, but it seems to be a perfectly natural solution in the minds of some.
Opinions?
That's the argument used in Maryland, too, whenever they decide to pass more gun control laws (which is pretty much every year): if we limit the legal gun owners then the downtrodden of our urban areas will have fewer to steal.
All I watch is CNN for as long as I can hold my nose. Just love to see what lies they are backing now: Jussie Smollet, Michael Brown, the Covington high School Students, Governor Cuomo
Guns are being brought up this week because they slipped a red flag/confiscation section in a 1300 page defense bill and these will be the arguments/ talking points of the week.
How about this...if the Dems can stop the murders in their own cities that they have had 100% control over for decades, we'll open the dialogue about selling guns at gun shows? I'd support that.
