Florida has much older residents than New York, that are all much more vulnerable, so if Florida is anywhere new New York in Deaths per million, Florida wins!

Great point.

I wonder how much COVID in Florida was brought to the state by liberals fleeing blue states with draconian lockdowns for a few weeks of normalcy. I would guess at least half the cases were caused by liberals from NY, NJ, Mass., CT, etc.

Refusal to vaccinate in the middle of a pandemic is becoming the ultimate political statement, which is insanity, and ironic since the GOP is angry about their “displacement” due to demographic change.

Florida doesn’t count non-resident deaths when they croak on Florida soil.

Snowbirds who maintain residence up north and all the tourists from out of state that have died while in Florida are counted elsewhere but not Florida.

This to me is quite insane, but typical of DeSantis, because it skews trends/contact tracing.

Florida is currently #10 in deaths per million in the U.S. If they counted the dead snowbirds and tourists you have to imagine they’d be higher.

Covid could have been brought there but when Mary Smith, age 88, from Ithaca was down in Boca for a month and got Covid then croaked it counted against NY, not Florida.

This thing has largely been over for a while now. Anyone who believes that the measures being taken have anything whatsoever to do with health and safety, other than it being the excuse they're using to implement them, is stupid. They just are. If someone believes that, at this point, they must have a low IQ. There's no other possibility. Even brainwashing has its limits.

And what support are you offering to support your comment? Vaccines do work and pure common sense tells you both masks and social distancing will have some impact at stopping the spread. It is not about "ME" it is about the vulnerable people I can infect.
