Three California parents are suing to prevent the state's public school system from reciting prayers to Aztec deities that have been worshipped with human sacrifice – arguing that doing so violates the U.S. and state constitutions.
The issue emerged earlier this year when researcher Chris Rufo reported on that particular aspect of the state's ethnic studies curriculum. As Fox News previously noted, the curriculum suggests chants that invoke the deity Tezkatlipoka.
Tezkatlipoka is an Aztec god that was honored with human sacrifices. According to the World History Encyclopedia, an impersonator of Tezkatlipoka would be sacrificed with his heart removed to honor the deity. In Aztec mythology, Tezkatlipoka is the brother of Quetzalcoatl, Huitzilopochtli and Xipe Totec – all of whom appear to be invoked in the chant.
This is crazy but not because of the Aztec gods part. Aztec religion is no less valid than any others and by law cannot be discriminated against more than any other religion.
I always knew that californikations were crazy to live there, this takes the case
PLEASE give californikation back to the Mexicans!!!
Great idea, lets pray to the same people who played soccer with fresh human heads!
I'M not a little bit, but a whole lot tired of you non Californians bashing the state, and the people who live here.
Like any other state, California has it problems, some worse than others, and some not so bad, compared to other states.
Not everyone in California is a die hard liberal, and many of us not only have financial ties to the state, but personal ones as well, so, for many , moving away from the state, or giving it back to Mexico, is not practical.
I think if you non Californians take a look at your own states, you will see it has flaws as well.
No place is perfect.
We on the conservative side of the sword are trying to seek change in our state government, and that takes time.
In the meantime, your constant bashing of California, and Californians does absolutely nothing to bolster your own image, and that of the states you live in.
It's like progressives go out of their way to find the most twisted and depraved aspects of society and promote them as a way to sticking it to traditional values.

It's probably just a bit of role playing, but yes one's religious beliefs are protected by the first amendment. Maybe they should just a show a film instead?
