Interesting how so many are quick to demonize the safety officer, yet turn a blind eye to this young 'mother.' What's she doing fighting a 15-year old in front of a high school in the first place?

An 18-year-old woman who was shot by a school safety officer near Millikan High School in Long Beach will be taken off life support by her family within 24 hours, an attorney announced Wednesday night.

The family identified the woman as Mona Rodriguez, the mother of a 5-month-old baby. Rodriguez is on life support, and is not expected to survive, according to her family. She was not a student at the school.

I realize this is is possibly a gang related incident, but WTH did he shoot her? It’s not like they couldn’t figure out where she lives, and couldn’t arrest her later.

Sure she made horrible life choices...did she deserve to die for that? Sure she was wrong for fighting the 15 year old...but that doesn’t justify shooting her in the head.

If this is a white guy shot dead it doesn't make the news.

So, consider that the next time people complain about news coverage based upon race.

Tragic. The officer should not have shot into the vehicle.

Was the 15 year olds life in danger? Read the article, it doesn’t look like it was a reason to shoot her

Generally I agree, but we don't know if the car tried to hit the guy or if they had guns or if the officer just fired on the car without a valid reason.

He shot her as she steered the car into him as he attempted to stop her. His shooting I am sure was an instant reaction.

Sure and her worst choice was to try and flee. If she had just let herself be arrested she would have been home by dinner.

Few people deserve to die, but it happens when you make bad life decisions.

Skimmed a couple articles to see if there was any info to that end. Perhaps it hasn’t been disclosed yet but I believe she was shot in the back of the head.

Shooting out the car tires was out of the question?

And if the officer did indeed shoot her in the back of the head, then it’s unlikely she was coming towards him. She would have had to be reversing.

Unable to draw a conclusion given the facts available.

There were multiple people involved so impossible to ascribe blame\innocence...but that won't stop people, or news articles considering her races etc.

Again. Interesting how THIS get's news while people whine about the Gabby story being racist for paying attention to missing white gals?
