No, not really. All I'm saying is since all the blue run everything, deep blue, they want to spend $5T in BS and we can't even get legal weed.

When they all won I was hopeful that we could at least work on this. Having weed scheduled by federal law as a substance as dangerous is cocaine, changing that would be a first step to really get the ball rolling.

I agree it's all crap, I don't want it passed either.

I think many of you are missing my point and reading too literal into it. My point is, we basically have far left running the country. Can we at least get some legal pot out of it? Yes, the country is currently in a handbasket headed straight for hell--- I'm sure as hell not going to argue against that. Dems have no idea what they are doing. Nancy and Joe want to write checks that will cripple generations---and they'll be dead themselves probably within a decade give or take! They won't even be alive to see the repercussions.

Weed needs to be legal. It should have been legal at least 20 years ago.

I thought perhaps with all the dems in charge maybe we could AT LEAST get it rescheduled (so it's not classified by law as dangerous as cocaine) and go from there, that would be cool. But Biden is too old a fart to even care about it. Pretty depressing.
That's what set you off?

Not the out of control spending or giving Americas money away to foreign nations? But because you can't go out and burn some rope in public?

Legalize freedom.

I dont even smoke the stuff and it makes my blood boil...its not about the right to smoke the stuff, its that the govt doesnt have the right to create or enforce laws on drugs in the first place!

When these laws were first created, it was specifically to target certain races, it was also due to religious concerns, The govt admitted they lied about the dangers of drugs, in fact, they still do this today, but is it to target certain races or for religious reason still? I think so, many people see 'drugs' as being pure evil, or of the devil, I think this is the way police view drugs, they believe they doing Gods work when they go out and arrest drug dealers or users, its a personal thing to them, they believe they are fighting evil.

Freedom is legalized under natural law. It's innate ergo the word natural.

Maybe this social contract thing needs looked at again along with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. The premises are awfully similar.

Just a thought.

I get you now. But when you say far left, you mean many of the repubs too since their big government ideology is similar.

If majority of people would just refuse to comply with these laws, the problem would be solved!

Why are local and state police even enforcing FEDERAL drug laws, (when they are not required to by law)?!! (states cannot be forced to enforce federal law...10th Amendment)

As a libertarian I am in agreement with this. I've smoked some MJ from time to time. It's ok, but for me - it's an occasional thing and that's all it will ever be. People should be able to smoke it for pain reduction or for enjoyment, without a hassle.
