Not talking about France right now, but when you hear Europeans telling you 'that is Communism', having lived under it they would know, then maybe people should actually listen to them.
As for France - I'm quite surprised to hear this, but, at the same time, when I lived in Europe, I noticed that people were able to debate without doxxing, losing their ish, screaming and yelling, throwing tantrums, etc.
They disagreed, but never acted like 2 year olds having a melt down.
The French invented Woke culture in the first place, and much of the 1960s gender studies, equality of outcomes, and anti-Western civilization rhetoric.
Making France a key player of the EU was a big mistake especially since Vichy France was despicable. They still gaslight the US constantly. Honestly, Russia and China can have them.

That's actually serious. It is a mental illness. One might call it 'anti-critical thinking'. It was a deliberate strategy of the soviets of the time, to bring down the West. It involves demoralizing the impressionable youth then finally instigating a crises and the collapse begins and socialism (aka, communism) takes over. That was the idea. It being a mental illness, they can't see it. They most likely think everything will be all rosy for them while the plebs do all the work for them and keep them in their comforts.
On the other hand, they might even have some romantic vision of what it will be like to go without. They might even think that queuing up to get meager goods from mostly empty store will be fun.

Consider this logic; Shut down the gas line construction, push for electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions then build coal fired poser stations to charge the electric vehicle batteries.
Hint, gas produces way less carbon than coal and so does gasoline. In other words, electric vehicles will ultimately increase carbon emissions but they don't realize that. That's not part of their narrative. As long as the correct nominated pronouns are being used and men who identify as female get to use the ladies rest rooms and live in their dorms, all will be good (funny how when it come down to it, one can't say 'women' because it's sexist so we must call them menstruating persons but a man who identifies as a women (you can say it then because transgender menstruating person doesn't work) You see the craziness?
