One could apply perspective and realize that although things aren't perfect here in the US, we are still the beacon of light in the world. Being thankful that one is so fortunate to live here in the US is a good place to start.

Yes, but many of these sports business owners use taxpayers subsidies .
The taxpayers in my area voted to fund the stadium through bond sales. Just more mob rule.
Many of the seats are paid for by businesses, so more taxpayer subsidized "business expenses".
The taxpayers also paid for the training of the employees through public school taxes. Anybody using hotels, rental cars pay taxes to pay off the bonds.
If that tax does not throw off enough money, the powers that be can get it out of the toll road revenue.
The incestuous relationship ship between these public/private partnerships needs to be examined.
