The devil is in the detail.
it is the "journalists". for example, when they write:

Quote:
While tens of thousands gather in college football stadiums, hospitals strain under a worsening surge of COVID-19 patients.
they link to a story from > 30 days ago. And the hospitalizations TODAY are improving, not worsening.

https://scdhec.gov/covid19/covid-19-...-bed-occupancy

when they write
Quote:
half of the state’s eligible residents still wait or refuse to be vaccinated.
they mean FULLY vaccinated, because 62% have gotten at least 1 shot.

when they refuse to act as if cases are declining, they are lying, because cases are down 50% or more.

We have no mandates. We are a conservative state.

ICU is 80% occupied.
477 out of 1377 are covid

Vent use is 44%
343 out of 828 are covid

40% of ventilation use is by COVID patients. I think that's a significant percentage....no?

Looking at the general Covid numbers from SC, their case numbers are dropping like most areas, but not their deaths. So their worst is not yet over.

692 7 day moving average cases per day a year ago.
1,779 7 day moving average cases per day now.

Oh yeah -- we are killing this COVID.

Trump did much better than Biden in addressing covid...we need Trump back.

I live in a state that openly defies Biden's policies.

Go figure.

He's an idiot.

No I don't think we should 'lockdown' but ignoring the virus has South Carolina moving up the ranks to #4 for a per capita rate....when we have little to no mass transit or population density that would easily explain the spread.

My son works at a restaurant that is seeing a COVID outbreak among the workers...no -- they aren't vaccinated.

One employee was urged to come into work -- even with COVID symptoms and testing positive.

WHy not? We are South Carolina -- we don't need your stinking guidelines.
I've seen plenty of your posts and have to wonder why you live in SC ?
The state policies seem to go totally opposite what you believe in.

Why not live in a state that is more conducive to your beliefs ?
(Honest question here).

I've lived in FL, TX and now SC. All are pretty similar to my beliefs and actually like what the SC governor is doing.

Not all restaurants are covid hot spots. I've been going to one restaurant weekly since last summer for breakfast.
They had no outbreaks and the same workers are there today that were there all last year.
I will say though that I stayed away from other restaurants that seemed too crowded..tables way too close.

No state is going to be perfect.

I like where I live in South Carolina.

McMasters handling of the virus has been a joke.

He closed schools with 16 cases -- not because of any sound arguments but because he jumped to 'support Trump'.

Then when Trump decided the virus was gone a month later -- McMasters called for schools to open --- with a 1000 cases a day......no logic. no sense. Just political circus.

I'd move to Florida -- I think DeSantis has mismanaged COVID as well...and his state has paid the price.....ranked number 2 in per capita cases and in the top 10 for deaths per capita.

But I'd live in Florida.

And that bothers you because ??

Myself..I would not go due to the size of the crowds. But those people are all willing to take that risk.
Why are you upset over that ?

I went to an Irish-Italian festival last week that our city put on. It was outdoors and not too crowded by my own personal standards.
That was a risk I was willing to take.

There is another festival this coming weekend...shrimp festival in NC.
There is no close parking...buses to transport you.
It's mostly a food festival and in the past has been packed.
I'm not going because it goes over my risk level.

Why not let the people decide their own risk level. Why does everyone need to conform to YOUR risk level ?

Hes likely stuck in a state where he voted one way and the rest of the state voted another, I have the same issue in NC as I certainly did not vote for our little tyrant governor although I mostly love my state, we will eventually get too many ex New Yorkers and turn completely stupid just like where they came from.
