False. There weren’t any shortages that I noticed when Trump was President.

Yes, the majority are older. I know a lot of elderly work, but I do not know how many of the deaths were working.

I would think that the retirees would have a smaller percentage infected, due to the fact that they could stay home with no problem. The working elderly would have been prime targets to get infected.

But I haven't seen anything addressing that.

A lot of people don't know how many of these government programs got huge increases due to the pandemic.
But they are slowly being ended. Several new programs were enacted with additional money.

You do still have the extra child money $300/month going on.

It was all in the CARES Act.
Yep, most are coming to an end. The child credit is scheduled to end at the ends of the year. That alone is keeping a lot of women out of the workforce. Things should start improving next year hopefully, but it is going to be rough for a while. Between people not wanting to work and too much reliance on China manufacturing, we are in a pickle. Try to go buy a new car right now. You can’t hardly find one and manufactures are still cutting production. Used car prices are through the roof.

It's wasn't supply. It was everyone and their brother ordering online and the delivery services got overwhelmed.

While everyone was thanking the nurses and doctors I actually thanked the UPS guy
He told me he was working overtime and weekends and banking as much as possible.
There was a never-ending pile of boxes every time he went back to the warehouse.

Devil is in the details.
Please note the annual growth in labor force for the 65-74, and 75+. They are the largest growing labor group.

Chips for cars are not scarce because of American workers collecting UI.

Plus, the argument from the left for years has been that there are no jobs for the young because older generation is still working. With the pandemic convincing many to leave the work force, there are plenty of jobs for the young now.
