How do you arrive at that 20K number?

The UMN trial was started in Jan of 2021, BTW. Nearly a year before the first confirmed case of Omicron in the US. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04510194

You can use this online calculator, I put in rough numbers and got 15688.

https://clincalc.com/stats/samplesize.aspx

My power is 80%, alpha is 0.05, incidence in Ivermectin arm is 0% and in placebo 0.1% (severe disease).

Of course, alpha = 0.05 is on the higher side, if I adjust alpha to 0.01, I get 23344.

When I told you 20,000, I ball parked that figure from my understanding of effect and sample sizes. Quite a good ballpark.

Stick to talking about topics you're educated in, like eating PJ sandwiches.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the UMN "COVID-OUT" trial is only targeted at 1350 participants, I believe.

So we'll ignore the results even if it says Ivermectin is super effective, right?

Was it "sold out" or was it "unavailable". There is a difference.
