In Oklahoma, Chinese nationalists are said to be buying up land at high prices owners can't resist. It's not fair to Americans who can't or don't want to bid higher.
Most of the foreign owned land is owned by Canadians. The Chinese only owns a small fraction. But we are not threatened by Canadians. The problem is that legislation against foreign ownership would be seen as anti-Canada. That's not the intention. If we single out the Chinese as banned from ownership, then that's a different type of legislation. They should also be banned from buying US Bonds. I think it can be done, like the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.
Economically, Chinese businessmen have been trying to park their money overseas. The money we pay them for the goods, they try to reinvest in the US because if they bring it back to China it's not as secure. On our end if the Chinese cannot invest in the US then that means more money flowing out of the US. But in return we have only citizen owners.
No shortage of foreigners, especially Russians South Americans and Chinese , park $ here versus their own country. US is viewed as a safer bet.
I think there should be a limit - but no foreign anyone should be able to trump a Veteran from buying his house or land he was approved for. Yea, I know capitalism. Once they stopped the Chinese from buying the Port of Miami. But some group from London did. We have sold out our birthrights for a Dollar. Don’t talk to me about immigrants that want to be a part of the YS when we sell foreign investors all the land, and businesses to include sending them our jobs.
You seem to be asking sellers to take less if the buyer is a veteran.
In Florida, if the association’s governing documents grant this authority ( income and credit check), it’s legal so long as it does not violate federal and state Fair Housing.
That only happens in Communist Nations....
Record a patent on your property and take title. Title is ownership. Private property is sacred, protected by the 9th amendment. Your rights can never be taxed.
Taxes cannot be paid in reserve notes, only real money. Corporations(city, State, Fed) are not sovereign and only sovereigns can levy a tax...
Frankfort v. Waldo
A patent was an early form of title, when the Federal government sold or gave land to individuals.
There are many misconceptions about land patents, including that the underlying property is not subject to property taxes, liens and zoning laws.
The US Constitution applies the same rights to all persons under US jurisdiction. Should non-citizens be taxed? Abolishing double standards was the whole purpose of The Revolution . . . .
