The longshoremen union said they would go to 3 shifts
I guess the union didn't think a pileup of ships off the coast was an issue.
In normal times there are at most 5 ships off the coast waiting.
It is quite interesting that in Jan with 38 ships no one was concerned. They waved it off as "due to the pandemic".
Then there were 56 or 57 ships...still "due to the pandemic".
Then there were reports of empty shelves.
People on the west coast started to notice container ships lining their coast and Puget Sound filled up with ships.
My BIL is an OTR trucker and thanks to Biden it now costs him well over $900 just to put gas in the truck. Guess who will be absorbing those extra costs?? Hint: it won't be him.
Has there been any talk from the WH and Biden about how this will be addressed? I haven't seen anything yet. Certainly it is well past time to address the container ship issues on both coasts.
What would you like the Biden Administration/Federal Government to do, specifically?
I have a theory that they are trying to ruin the dairy/beef industry.
Who is 'they' and what is 'their' intended outcome and for what purpose?

I can off the top of my head think of at least a half dozen dairies that have closed in the past 5 years, and know at least four farmers who sold their dairy cows and started farming corn and soybeans, or rented out their land.
You're right that the dairy industry has been declining for a long time.

Send in FEMA resources or the military to help clear the backlog of waiting ships.
