Delta has about 80,000 employees. 80%, about 64,000 employees were previously vaccinated when in August it announced it would impose a $200/ mo surcharge on all unvaccinated employees enrolled in the company sponsored healthcare insurance. Its actuaries determined the average cost of Covid hospitalization was $50,000 and Delta expects those employees who choose to not vaccinate share the financial burden. The surcharge becomes effective 11/1/2021.

Online rumors about recently vaccinated pilots have been circling for 4-5 months. Why are these rumors focused only on pilots and not the overwhelming majority of airline employees who are not pilots?
The intent is purposeful fear mongering. Oh my. Your next flight is doomed because the pilot might drop deal in the cockpit after being vaccinated, blah, blah, blah.
Those buying into the crap seem to ignore the FAA requires a MINIMUM of 2 pilots in the cockpit of commercial carriers because, on very rare occasions, a pilot might experience a health problem or need to use the bathroom. The longer the flight, the more pilots onboard due to scheduled rest periods.
