Halloween is not a huge event in this country, much as the commercial interests try to promote it.
My boss at a large local primary school banned it because of his Christian religious beliefs.
I wish they would stop using 'POC' for everyone who isn't European white.
It completely removes their identity, their ancestry, ethnicity, etc., and takes away their characteristics.
It's demeaning.
Completely agree. I am red-headed so my skin is actually fawn coloured with darker blotches. Husband is Southern European and his skin is the same brown as many people of middle eastern, Indian, Brazilian and many other backgrounds.
and in this particular case.....the reason folks may not participate in Halloween isn't the color of their skin, it's their religion.
Lots of people of color celebrate Halloween.
Yet they are saying it is the color of their skin. Why would they say that if it were due to dominant religious beliefs. They arent hesitant to say religious beliefs when it comes to banning Christmas or Easter celebrations.
