Does anyone really expect the Stones to play every song they've ever recorded? Even ever popular song they've ever recorded? They'd be playing all night - which I wouldn't mind at all, but ...

Keith stirred the pot.....lol.
And who knows if it was political. Mick did say back in 1995 he doesn't think he would write the song given the topic.....so maybe Mick was uncomfortable and good ole Keith just doesn't care...it's about the music.
So many songs are about stuff that is controversial....I don't know.
I wish I was seeing the Stones -- Brown Sugar or not.
This is why I have hard copies of music and movies I enjoy. No one can take them away. If you only own digital copies, those can be deleted anytime the woke attack.

What’s worse, cancel culture or Mick and Keith for giving in? You know who wouldn’t give an inch : Lemmy (RIP Brother) and all the real men in metal. . Long Live Heavy Metal.
What's next, Honky Tonk Women? Can't be insulting sex women. I love the Stones for the 60's and 70's songs but they have to retired. Mick is too old to be jumping up and down and pretend he is a sex symbol.
Well, it exists in the full catalog of their music. They haven't purged it, just choose not to perform it. I listened to it a few days ago and paid closer attention to the lyrics. I can see that, under our current sensibilities, that some people might be offended. It is still available as a recording if someone wants to hear it. I suspect that DJs might retire it after this. 1971 was a different world. Things didn't resonate as they do now.
Another song is "Under My Thumb" (1966), one of my favorites due to the music but the words might be a bit troublesome for some. I like the way the Marimba and bass weave through the song but don't pay much attention to the full lyrics. I graduated from high school in 1966 so it is part of my musical DNA. I suspect others might feel the same way about "Brown Sugar".
There are a lot of old classic rock songs that are extremely problematic to the young people of today. I could give hundreds of examples. But I don’t care, I will keep listening.
Man, I miss the freedom of the old days. If I knew they were gonna take it away, I would’ve appreciated it more, but I thought it would last forever so I took it all for granted.
I’m a guy in my 50’s and life was just better back then. How miserable that must be as a teenager or in your 20’s spending your whole day looking at your phone? Man, we lived! We experienced life. It’s not possible that the average youngster of today is having more fun than I did when I was that age.
Music was a big part of it, too. The music of today is mostly awful.
