Yeah, that's pretty much every city though. Very few cities are universally dumps- even Gary has a nice area (Miller Beach).

Gary is far worse than Indianapolis. I'll take a chance on Detroit before Gary. Detroit can be rescued. Gary lived and died with U.S. Steel, and alot of Chicago's trash seeped into Gary.

The days of highly educated and skilled folks being unable to live where they grew up and forced to live in major cities has evaporated. I personally know 3 families that have done this.
Over half of the nation’s counties lost population between 2010 and 2020. While working from home is now an option for many, those doing so still represent a minority of workers.

Didn't say that Indy was as bad as Gary, just that even places as dreadful as Gary have 'nice' areas.
