This is a private sector issue. Most Americans believe the private sector is 100% efficient and yet they have manifested this failure all on their own. Furthermore, these same Americans don't think where their goods came from (Asia) they just assume with money they can buy whatever they need whenever.

Not only has this led to offshoring, but overconsumption and crude commercialism during Christmas. Maybe now that there is a supply chain shortage, Americans will learn the true meaning of Christmas.

Personally, I think this is a GREAT development.

Not to mention, a lot of us could lose a few pounds. I think food shortages are a GREAT development too!

What the heck is "private sector" in capitalist country, where everything is private anyway?

Far I could tell, esteemed posters actually DO believe Psaki's pitch that backlogged ships are indeed caused by Americans buying too much because life got better and everyone is making more money?
SERIOUSLY?

Oh dear! Americans are going to have to focus on something other than material things. Whatever shall we do?

Seriously though, this may really be a good thing.

It's proving to be endlessly illuminating.

Looks like you bought Psaki's BS. I guess it's inevitable since you can't buy material things.

2021. The end of choice.

I have not had trouble finding anything I want. Actually I am somewhat surprised how much Chinese junk is still readily available given all the media reports. And it is not just Americans, supplies and logistical challenges are occurring all over the world. It is more noticeable here, I suppose, as we are rabid and impatient consumers.

When my kids were younger I had all their toy shopping done by Thanksgiving. Always had to get it done because stores always ran out of the popular items.

Yes, your sarcasm was directed at people effected by supply issues. Much like Psaki's treadmill comment.
