And I addressed that in an earlier post (see post #58). Just because a trans female is not permitted to play HS sports does not prevent them from getting athletic scholarships in college. There are x number of scholarships available and they will get awarded to whom ever is worthy, cis or trans.
Only reason I am going beyond the HS argument is that some use the scholarship issue as a reason why these HS bills are needed.
"cis." I truly despise that term. I just reeks of making being totally happy the way you were born some sort of TRANSgression. I am happy as a pig in a mudhole on a hot Summer day being male and born that way. I'm NOT "cis." I am MALE. Though I will say I do envy the ability that many women have of having several orgasms within minutes each one successively more intense. THAT would be cool. Though I am more than happy inducing such a response I still have wondered what that would be like. But not to the point of trying to pretend I'm a woman and think that such a flight of fancy would actually make me one.
But I digress. That "cis" term I find offensive. Truly I do. May as well feel thus and get on the offended bandwagon. It just comes off very strongly as a derogatory term in the same way homosexuals referring to heterosexual people as "breeders." I've had another term thrown at me also. "Alice." I have never gotten an answer to what the hell that's supposed to denote. I spitballed on it but it's quite unclear. At any rate "cis" comes off to me the very same way.
Fake news, not true. Two of the three girls mentioned did receive scholarship money, the third is still a senior in HS. On the other hand the two trans female runners did not earn scholarships. The one did not transition and meet eligibility to compete in college, the other after transitioning (performance declined) was unable to make NC State's track team as a walk on.
That being said my point was this bill will not prevent trans females athlete from earning scholarships. They do not have to compete as a female in HS in order to get a scholarship. Most trans female athletes in college sports competed as boys in HS, then took a year off to transition and then competed in college, and some actually started out competing in college as a male , took a year off to transition and then competed as a female. Should also be noted most governing bodies of private youth sports do allow trans athletes to compete based on collegiate policies, and in many cases if not more club sport is offering athletes more college exposure then HS.
There are only so many athletic scholarships to be had. They are awarded to the most competitive, and to date very few trans female athletes have received them.
As far as the Texas bill, I only have a few objections. One being I would of rather seen them adapt the NCAA policy, and second this bill prevents a trans male on medically prescribed Testosterone from competing with the boys, instead has to compete with the girls.
"Fake News?" It was reported in the MSM.
Show me a link that points to what you're saying. Did they get scholarships only after they spoke up?

Just another way of saying "normal". Embrace it and take away their power. They are trying to make normal people seem just like one more perverted choice.
