Probably dumb white people who think that black people need their help.

No just dumb white people trying to indoctrinate their faith globally. I’d be shocked if they even spoke French.

Ok, so we agree it's conjecture at this point.

So, within a few days there will either be some political message from the gang....or just an ask for money.

Frankly, this looks like a job for one of the Seal Teams, perhaps afterwards as a lesson.

So the answer is that no, there is no evidence of this and it is your own unfounded speculation that you are trying to introduce as part of the reference to a news article that doesn't mention it. What a surprise.

How about from 2019?

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nat...240936621.html
The U.S. State Department warned Americans on Thursday against traveling to Haiti, citing the rise in violent crime, including kidnappings. The travel warning for Haiti was raised to Level 4 — Do Not Travel — replacing the previously “reconsider travel” advisory that was issued on June 11, 2019. The new travel advisory for Americans comes as Haiti sees a “spectacular” rise in kidnappings. Violent crimes such as armed robbery and carjackings are also on the rise and the politically volatile country continues to be in the throes of civil unrest. “Kidnapping is widespread,” the State Department said in its advisory. “Kidnappers may use sophisticated planning or take advantage of unplanned opportunities. Victims have included U.S. citizens.”

Either way your logic is fail, missionaries go to dangerous country all the time.

Do good for Americans in America and you're accused of being a SOCIALIST!

Do good for other people in other countries with American $$$ and you pat yourself on the back and label yourself 'noble'.

American residents have been warned for years to avoid travel to Afghanistan.

Nonetheless, some ignored the warnings. Some were contractors and some visited families.

Those who ignored the warnings were expected to register their arrival and plans with the US embassy. Some did not.

The Trump Admin negotiated directly with the Taliban in 2019-20. In February, 2020 the Trump Admin entered into a contract with the Taliban to facilitate the release of 5000 Taliban fighters from Afghan prisons and to withdraw all US troops by 5/1/2021. The release occurred in 2020. In January, 2021, the outgoing Admin had reduced troops to 2500. Trump bragged about it.

Nonetheless, some US residents chose to travel to Afghanistan. This includes 20 +/- school children who presumably were supposed to visit family.

Biden could have redeployed massive troops as had been the case in the Trump, Obama and Bush Admin when troops had been drawn down.

For a variety of reasons, the Biden Admin chose to extend the deadline to August, 2021 and did so with bipartisan support at the time.

It was predetermined by the Trump Admin agreement with the Taliban, come 5/2/2021 there was going to be a new sherif in town - the Taliban. No surprise the Afghan Army fled. No surprise the Afghan president and entourage left the country.

None of this happened in a vacuum. And still, some US residents continued to travel to Afghanistan.

Biden was handed a no win situation and that might have been intentional.

Afghanistan is a land- locked mountainous country. The majority of the people are illiterate and live in rural areas. They herd goats and cultivate poppies for heroin/ opium trade. 20 years of US occupation did not change anything beyond the occupation becoming the dominate economy, limited to a few urban areas.

The US fought a proxy war with Afghanistan in the 80’d. It spent $ billions on war toys and defense contractors trained Afghan rebels how to use them. This attracted jihadists from all over the world.

When Russia retreated, the country descended into civil war in the 90’s. Then came 9/11 and the decision to invade.

I say screw ‘em. They knew the risks. They need to own it.
No need to endanger US forces to rescue these fools.
Or waste more tax dollars bailing them out.
Afghanistan was totally different circumstances.

He'll just tell them the same thing he told Americans in Afghanistan..."Just go to the airport and we'll pick you up".

I heard about this yesterday. It’s tragic and the horror that those Americans must be encountering are unimaginable to most people. That said, when I pulled up the State Department Travel Advisory the first thing I read was “Do not travel to Haiti due to kidnapping, crime, civil unrest, and COVID-19”. Sadly, missionaries or not Americans are very vulnerable in Haiti. I don’t have much faith in the current State Department to negotiate the release of these Americans. They’re doing as much as they’ve done for all of the U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents and SIV holders still stranded in Afghanistan. Nada!

I’m hoping that if the whereabouts of these hostages are known some very dangerous American men from SOCOM (Delta or SEAL Team 6) will arrive in Haiti in the dark of the night and swiftly vanquish the kidnappers and bring these Americans to safety.
