"The Biden administration this week revoked Trump-era rules that allowed U.S. authorities to limit the number of asylum-seekers who can be processed at official border crossings.
Using metering, U.S. officials would restrict the number of migrants who could legally ask for humanitarian protection at ports of entry. The practice began under President Barack Obama and was expanded by the Trump administration, prompting thousands of asylum-seekers to wait in northern Mexico until their numbers came up."
"This Administration has outlined a comprehensive strategy to expand safe, orderly, and humane pathways for migration, including for noncitizens who may be seeking protection to access the United States," Miller, the acting CBP commissioner, wrote. "This guidance is issued in furtherance of that strategy and is effective immediately."

Each day it seems this administration is rescinding rules for illegal immigrants and it's really gotten out of hand. I worry for the safety of our country.

Sometimes I think republicans have the worst reading comprehension skills ever. Either that or ya'll are finally turning on former President Trump. From OP's link:

The immediate impact of this week's memo on border processing is unclear since the U.S. government continues to rely on a pandemic-era emergency policy known as Title 42 to expel migrants, including at ports of entry, without allowing them to request asylum.

In September, the last month with available government data, U.S. authorities at ports of entry along the southern border expelled 2,100 migrants under Title 42, which was first put in place by the Trump administration.

So what on earth do republicans want? Should we continue one of Trump's policies or not? Do you all think that those 2,100 migrants should have been ADMITTED instead?

Color me Shocked that TeamBiden is admitting that the US Border is OPEN and all unvetted Alien Invaders are Welcome. It's clearly a National Security issue and THE LEFTISTS don't care that it is.

Where are they going, where do they live, how much of our tax dollars do they get, where are they being lined up for work... we should know the details of where every plane lands, every immigrant goes to live, how much money is being spent, etc. Are they giving them section 8 housing further fueling a rental and housing shortage and driving up prices for the middle class?

Now we all know by now the top and bottom suck from the middle... I mean it's obvious. The democrats are getting upset the middle are starting to become belligerent. The right... half of them are swamp creatures themselves while a small but growing chunk seem to care... the Biden administration has already been sniffing the Feds on some of them to make sure they don't give the middle finger to school board members at a meeting.

The status quo don't want their snowglobe shaken. Imagine lifetime term limits of 10 years for any government office, campaign finance reform, abolishing executive orders, limiting the amount of federal debt that can be created in any given year to 2% of GDP, limiting the number of things allowed in any given spending package, or various other laws we could pass to bring down the swamp... it's our job to keep the size of both governments and corporations in check. Imagine if we started doing our job. End purchasing of residential real estate by mega firms like Blackrock.. you could have capitalism with checks and balances, rather than capitalism turned oligarchy.

I'm not a Republican and President Barack Obama started the program, not Trump. It really has nothing to do with Trump, except he continued the program. You can read that in my post.

Most people want legal immigrants, not illegal immigrants for this country.

Currently we give out 50,000 diversity visas per year. How many should we give?

We are talking about Title 42 here which was put in place to prevent people from entering our country and spreading the Covid virus. The pandemic did not take place until long after Obama had stepped down from office. If you posted otherwise, it was incorrect. Again, read your own link.

Couldn't agree more with your final statement.
