Moved to P&OC, and my observations out here in CA that the % of folks in support of gay/lesbian rights has to be close to 70% for the entire spectrum of ages. Coming here from Ohio I can definitely tell you that the sentiments are very different in both places.

california has a lot of tolerance for difference.

Well, I suspect we will have a public vote on the issue of allowing gay marriage in November, so we'll see if it is tolerance or apathy. One thing that might be interesting about all of this is that though the support for homosexual rights may be very high, some of this may fall short of agreement with allowing gay marriages.

With the issue on the ballot in November, it might help activate the Republican base out here in CA, and cause more Republicans to cast votes than would normally be expected. If so, this could turn out some additional support for Republican candidates, even if the same sex marriage decision ends up being validated.

Wooo! We already have four replies and still no one has said california are morons or idiots or any of that negative stuff about us? What the hell?

By the way, I just hope now we can reduce some taxes and goverment spending. The larger the goverment the more dangerous it gets, the same goes for democracy(mob rule). Now, lets defeat this stupid proposition in the fall.

I don't know, I live in inland California and it is a different state. I guarantee most in my area would be against gay marriage, and my parents said it was disgusting.

I can't wait to get out of here.

Unless a constitutional amendment specifically designating marriage being between a man and a woman passes the vote, any law created will suffer the fate of the last one created by vote which was just tossed aside as unconstitutional.

That is no surprise at all, younger people always favor the right to gay marriage, regardless of what state you are in.
