Seems like it according to a website that tracks homicides this is at least 804th homicide of the year.

804 homicides so far in 2021, up from 487 homicides at this time in 2019.

Wow 804 dead people from stupid gang activity. How many of these people were not in a gang but simply in the wrong place at the wrong time?

I looked it up and to date 3,766 have been shot so "only" 804 dead is a testament to the first responders and emergency room personnel.

The sad thing is we have a segment of our society that sees nothing wrong with shooting people. We have a school shooting and the world stops but when more die in a weekend in Chicago where is the outrage? Where are the demands to ban the illegally owned guns these gangsters are using?

The same people that are willing to shoot someone are the same type that would bum rush a store and loot it.

The answer of course is repercussions. There has to be repercussions for ones bad behavior or the children will keep acting up and acting out while good people get hurt.

Oh well, the Democrats are in charge of these places that are experiencing these crimes so I guess that is what the People want.

804 homicides.... That's a rate of around 29/100K. That's gotta be pushing early 90s levels, right?

You are the 1 that injected covid deaths into a discussion about murder in a liberal lead city. And somehow 1 governor is responsible for virus deaths in his state but the other 1 isn't? I'm shocked you didn't accuse President Trump in your convoluted yeah but.

How about refraining from derailing threads with a bunch of yeah buts.

Chicago homicide rate is trending a bit higher than 1990 but about 5% lower than the peak in 1992.

Interestingly, Indianapolis now has a similar homicide rate to Chicago and Milwaukee has a much higher homicide than Chicago.

It seems like Kansas City, St. Louis, Detroit and many other Midwestern cities actually have far higher homicide rates than Chicago.

Chicago population was 2,783,000 in 1990 and is now 2,460,000.

Chicago had 850 homicides in 1990 with a peak of 939 homicides in 1992.

https://www.factcheck.org/2016/07/du...n-crime-trend/

Indianapolis is already up to 251 homicides

https://fox59.com/news/names-release...-indianapolis/

Milwaukee is already up to 195 homicides

We need more guns in the general public. Hand them out at birth. No background checks. That should help.

Just like the NRA lobby and GOP want
