No they weren't, because house/condo/apartment prices/rents were rising at a faster rate than income. And most people spend 1/3 to over half their income on housing

Not completely true, or everyone would be stuffed full of pie. Or are you saying that most Americans are just too stupid and lazy?

But regardless of how they got their pie, this thread is about how much they are expected to give to pay for things the government has decided it needs. So the guy with a few crumbs on his plate is looking at the guy who has 3/4 of a pie to himself, and saying “how about sharing a bit?”

It's so nonsensical, there is no point in replying. My guess is this poster will be thinned out of the gene pool at some point.

Because they flooded the country with illegals so they take those jobs and lefties think they should live off of that.

It's such a childish approach. And the policies overwhelmingly hurt those they pretend they want to help. The only people who do well are the politicians who kick back to their buddies and sell their art to finance their shady family businesses. Do you care that Nancy Pelosi is worth over $300 million and got rich on insider trading? Do you care that Joe Biden's son's artwork sells for more than some Monets and Picassos? Do you think he is a better artist? Wake up and smell the coffee. You are being played.

Elon Musk could end world hunger with 2% of his wealth, and he'd still be one of the wealthiest people in the world. Again, we have the money, it's just overly concentrated in a few people.

We're not asking to tax the business owner who is doing well. We're asking to tax the "creating a new space program is my quirky hobby" level of wealthy.
Taxing 6 individuals will do nothing for that single mom burger flipper.

Raising taxes will not increase that burger flipper's salary.

It can pay for programs to help people like that. That's the point here.

I don't like Pelosi, but her wealth is primarily joint wealth as a couple generated from her husband's business interests.

This is simply leftist propaganda to continue the classwarfare story. Much of the hysteria is by driven house prices while not taking into account house payments due to low interest rates. Of course, there may be supply and demand problems in Seattle, NYC and SF, but most of the country is affordable. You should blame the leftwing governments in those areas for their housing isssues. Another big problem is people that think they are entitled to live wherever they want.
