That's the wrong term as well. I'm a Social Democrat, I advocate government similar to what the Scandinavian countries have, Capitalism with a welfare state (and single payer healthcare)
Then move to Scandinavia if America is holding you back so much. Our values clearly aren't good enough for you. With the amount of complaining you do on here I'm shocked you haven't left already.
That might be OK, as long as all income is consider equally. No lower rates for capital gains. No tax shelters. No deductions for mortgage interest or charitable donations.
You are delusional if you think the mortgage interest deduction still exists. It is not possible to exceed the standard deduction. The only way you can is if you bundle it with OTHER deductions. The average Joe isn't getting it.
Rich people think any amount of taxes are unreasonable, because they think they earned all their money in a vacuum, and that anything that is taxed will go to "those awful poors who don't deserve one crumb of it"
How on earth would YOU know what rich people think?
I was against taxes when I was young. Why? Because I worked for two county governments and I saw the massive waste and abuse of the taxpayer $$ and it makes me sick. Did then. Does now. Politicians have no respect for people who work hard.
I bet I earn more than you do, so if anything, I should be the one asking that question of you, but I don't, because I believe in redistribution
I bet you don't earn more than I do.
