Did you follow the logic? If the only people they're tracking are the very sick, who need the hospital, we'd expect a large CFR.

They've reported hardly any cases. Am I supposed to believe their numbers? Or how China has somehow had less than 100,000 cases?

You're trying to make a conspiracy out of the US numbers which I'm not interested in wasting time with.

Why not? China's numbers only include symptomatic COVID and they got it under control at the beginning of the pandemic due to military style lockdowns.

I don't care what China's response was; there's well over a billion people packed in like sardines.

They've reported hardly any cases.

Because - mainly - and this has been covered repeatedly - it's OLD PEOPLE that get seriously ill. They have - as a nation - very few. Many of the "old" people who get sick will never be tested for COVID for many - many - reasons.

While many of the young people probably got it - most of them (like here) have zero symptoms - so they're not getting tested. Here (USA) for instance - you might be tested for work, for travel, because your spouse has it or your kid, for random blood work, at the dr. for another reason, routine checkup - and on and on and on. THIS is where MOST of the USA positive tests come from - they do NOT come from (very) symptomatic people who got a test - but from mainly pre- or non-symptomatic people, or those with minor symptoms. You can verify this by confirming the number of positive tests (USA) with the number of hospitalizations.

With that in mind, approximately ZERO of those non-hospital cases in CONGO would be listed - or even known about - while a good proportion of the serious cases would go unlisted as well.

It's no mystery - but to be fair - ya gotta see it from BOTH SIDES. There are less covid deaths and serious cases there - that's a fact - but it is MAINLY due to demographics. There is also a much lower number of reported cases, which is mainly do to lack of medical care or testing. Both things are true at the same time.

It does not - at all - mean that the vaccine is useless, or that what works for Congo will work for Florida. It just doesn't.
