Democrat Jared Polis solution to COVID-19 is to instate death panels, care rationing and witholding surgeries from those who desperately need it.

Republican Ron De Santis Florida was to have a wide variety of therapies such as remdesivir and Molnupiravir for the people of the great Republican state of Florida.

Republican Ron De Santis Florida: COVID rate 8.1 with infection rate of 0.84

Democrat Jared Polis Colorado: COVID rate 51.1 with an infection rate of 1.11

The people of Colorado overwhelmingly voted for a President who tried to kill Floridians two months ago when Governor DeSantis was doing all he could to get remdesivir to the people of his state.

Now, heavily Democrat Jared Polis Colorado's rate is absolutely surging and rather than trying to get as many treated with remdesivir and other therapies, the governor of Colorado is planning on having "Crisis Standards of Care" which is death panels for the sick.

That's exactly what happens with socialized medicine. And people still want the Federal Government to control their healthcare?

Lefties no longer want to discuss Florida now that they have one of the lowest, if not lowest Covid rates.

They also don't want to talk about all these blue states with surging Covid cases. Ironic how that works with Democrats.

It is more like that is what happens when brain dead magahats refuse to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of a disease that can get out of control. Never mind that the care is free to them.

There isn't anything you can do. How did Oregon and Hawaii experience the same surge Florida did when those states had indoor and outdoor mask mandates and a large quantity of vaccinations?

I really, really, REALLY dislike Colorado politics, and imo, Polis, is such a liberal Dem that he is close to being a Progressive, but I do not think that under extreme conditions, I don't think that crisis standards are wrong any more than prioritizing who gets treated first was wrong in mass casualty situations. From this link https://www.dailycamera.com/2021/10/...ive-surgeries/ that the OP listed:

QUOTE, my italics:

"[C]risis standards of care provide legal cover if they can’t offer what’s normally considered minimum acceptable care. For example, under crisis standards of care, a hospital without enough beds in its intensive-care unit would have a procedure to follow, to prioritize care for patients who are sick enough to need an ICU, but more likely to survive than others. The patients on the losing end would still receive what care was available — they wouldn’t just be left to die — but they might not get resources that would give them a better chance to survive."
END QUOTE

So if a 95-year-old is admitted in the last stages of terminal cancer at the same time that a child has been admitted with survivable but life-threatening injuries due to being hit by a car and there is only one ICU bed available, I would think that the bed would go to the child -- and, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with that in that situation.

But, to be absolutely clear, I think Polis is completely wrong in his approach to the pandemic, and I am SO glad we moved away from that state!

It is a disturbing word, but there is always the possibility of "death panels" if it comes down to a triage situation with limited resources, and in that case, no one really "wins". The interesting thing is that through the entire "surge" in Florida I don't recall the Governor stating that they need to do that.

But specifically in the case of COVID, the issue is that medical "Professionals" are saying that they are going to use a person's vaccinated Status as the determining factor in if someone gets treated. So if they treat a 95-Year-Old vaccinated person with a 10% chance of survival and refuse to treat a 30-year-old unvaccinated person with a 75% chance of survival just because the 30-year-old is unvaccinated..that is where this becomes wrong and IMO unethical. But many of the compassionate people pushing the vaccines have no issue with this and will use statements like "Well one less anti-vaxxer" or "Well they made the choice".

Florida has the highest 7 day average death rate of any state in the nation. Colorado's seven day average death rate is several times lower. Why do we want to emulate Florida?
