At this point in time, no one I know IRL or on this forum, believes in the legitimacy of trans-species. I have, however, read several articles about people who literally believe they are a cat, a dragon, or some species of "otherkin."
My niece is a public school teacher. She told me recently that there is a new trend in her school district, especially among middle school and high school kids, to claim to be trans-species. Ok, kids like to do weird stuff, make waves, draw attention to themselves, I get that. But the teachers have been told to accept this as the kids' reality. One student wants to be called Goat, and he makes goat sounds throughout the day and wears horns on his head (even though hats are not allowed by the dress code). There is a whole group of students who say they are a wolf pack; they make wolf calls and wear fangs. There are a few others, but you get the point.
I wish I was making this up. I'm sure some of you will think I am. Believe what you will.
I don't think the teachers should have to pretend that their students are animals or call them Wolf or Goat. I think it makes the teachers look foolish. Would you agree? Have any of you heard of this happening in schools in your area?

You just need to know what magic you possess inside of you. That is........
"In the time of the Great Flood, the Unicorns saw they were going to be wiped out. So they determined what was going to be the dominant lifeform after them and transformed into that. Some saw it would be the dolphin and they became that while others saw the playfulness of otters and became them. The rest saw humans and crossed over into them.
Unicorns exist with us today but we don't recognize them for they have taken on another form. With some, it is the actual form, with others, it is a kind of glamor but whether just on the outside or through and through, they are all unicorns.
A thing that must be remembered with those who appear human is that they are still animals; they have no souls. Further, since they are an animal, they are like all animals in that all animals are magical."
Kids in school today may be bored out of their minds. Pretending to be an animal may be a healthy response to being trapped in school for a third of every weekday. Competent educators could see that trend and ask themselves what are they doing so completely wrong that kids get so deeply into coping mechanisms.
