What percentage increase is 5,000?

So the 5,000 figure is in fact a nominal increase to those very large school districts.

I assume the families these kids are living with pay taxes -- direct property taxes or they pay rent and pay some of the tax expense for that landlord. They are who are paying.

NJ residents have every right to vote against or for spending that much money per student. They are mechanisms in place to show displeasure with policies.

Lastly ---This is not a new problem.
We have seen significant unaccompanied minors at our borders for years. Each year -- even with previous more restrictivei mmigration policies and procedures, we have seen exponential growth in the number of unaccompanied minors.

No administration has sent unaccompanied minors back to where they have come from.

And you can claim it is just Democrats who are not sending them home -- but they weren't sent home under Trump either.

Would be smarter to get more involved in Central America and help those governments stabilize their countries so that parents don't send their kids to our borders?

It could be that would be a better way to spend money.

One more point.....what the pandemic crisis has done has shown how broken so many of our institutions/systems are & how we have been ignoring the cracks in those systems. A teacher in the linked article says they are at capacity for special needs and just can't take anymore. This is not JUST because of these unaccompanied minors. The system is at capacity and nothing is being done to address it. Obviously school boards are not managing that expensive cost per student very well.
Did you even read the article? I doubt that you did. If you had read it, those school systems were saying that they were already over their limit when it comes to dealing with kids like these. They are short staffed and are barely coping. This surge will push them over the edge.

You don't have a clue as to how much it costs to educate one child. Where I live, a house has to be assessed at $1 million before the property taxes fully cover the cost of educating one child. Thus whatever portion of whatever rent these people are paying comes nowhere near covering the cost of education their multiple children.

And, yes, these unaccompanied minors should never be allowed into the country. Mexico let them in, let them be Mexico's problem

As for helping Central American countries, you know darn well if we showed up there unannounced and started forcing changes, you and your ilk would be screaming about interfering. As it is, we send them billions in aid that just ends up in the pockets of the oligarchs.

The very same happened under Obama's surge.

I was in Texas and teaching and I got stuck with a classroom full of non English speaking middle schoolers and I didn't know Spanish. They spent 2 months talking to themselves and playing on their phones. Nobody cared. I was supposed to be teaching them 7th grade Math.
And they all PASSED and got promoted but it was not by my hand.

Just read up on what happened under Obama.
They got put into the state foster care system.

SC is refusing to accept Biden's kids; the Fed never reimbursed SC from Obama's kids that got put into foster care.

See the surge was not this great under Obama so most stayed in Texas or the southern states.
But with historic numbers under Biden more states are now seeing huge number of "kids" (some are young adults) being put into the K-12 system.

This problem will be ongoing and likely pick up steam under Biden and his handlers. Even if Trump comes back in, he can’t send these kids back, right? The Dems know this.

Yep. Couldn't happen to a better state, other than maybe California.

Simple question which I'm sure you will deflect from.

Do you think Brandon trying to give $450,000 to each family member of illegal immigrants entering this country will increase or decrease the amount of illegal immigration going forward?

We have never seen the number of unaccompanied minors crashing our border and being allowed into our country as we have under Biden. We have been throwing money at those countries that they have been coming from for decades now and nothing has changed. No way should unaccompanied minors be allowed into our country. They are the responsibility of their parents and we shouldn't become involved with them.

These are the kids, who were secretly flown into NY, and other States - by the Biden Administration, supposedly to be reunited with Family. What Family????

Foster Care, Yup. How the hell would they know who the family is - if many were unaccompanied.
