Meantime, the "spike" you're referring to was two weeks ago - when Vermont hit 300 a day. That's 300. Out of 180 thousand. Does that seem like headline news-worthy to you? What did you want the "blue states" to report?

The real question is - what percent of Vermont's hospital beds were full of covid patients during this "spike"? Previously, Vermont stated "that the state would need to see a case rate of 380 per day for a 14-day period to start straining its hospitals."

So - they are not overwhelmed - and were not nearly overwhelmed, even two weeks ago.

In short - there's nothing to report in Vermont - UNLESS you still think "case numbers" are the end-all, be-all metric for comparison. They are not, and never were.
I completely agree!

So, why are many communities locked in on "the CDC says we have HIGH transmission at 100 cases/100K/day average" in maintaining restrictions?

The CDC published their data on 2020 deaths.

5% died of covid only
95% had pre-existing conditions.
85% of that 95% were overweight/obese.

So out of 600K deaths 30K died of covid only.

When the FDA halted the J&J vaccine due to 7 women getting blood clots...6 of those 7 were obese.

You probably won't die of COVID If you are in decent shape. You could very well get a case where it sends you to the hospital. Even mild cases could give you some brutal long haul symptoms.

The best protection is getting vaccinated and not being a fatass

25% breakthrough cases average for the last about 7 months, as reported by OR, that has the fastest reporting system in the USA? Is that "really rare"?

Yet..vaccinated people in other countries are gettin covid and are dying in pretty substantial numbers.
But here in the US....well we're "special".

I don't know anyone with a breakthrough infection. But I know a few unvaccinated who are dead and were too stupid to not get vaccinated

Breakthrough's are 1 in 5000.

Other studies have it 1 in 10,000

I know several people who had "breakthrough" cases. Some of them very serious. The vaccines are about worthless.

CDC wasn't even tracking breakthrough cases until quite recently. We don't actually have reliable data on the numbers because of their failure to track it from the start. Other countries that have tracked them from the start show substantial numbers.

Thank you.
I'll yield my doses to you.
Also, please, do not downplay very high breakthrough rate by misinforming readers that they are very rare.

I, also, want to use this opportunity and apologize. What I said was the last 6 WEEKS, not months, in OR. Other states simply badly lag behind, along with the CDC, on such reports ()

So attached is data from OR and, if you think that, somehow, in VT, humans are different, I'll be very surprised.
