De Niro had a strong profanity laced tirade about a sitting president on national tv, which probably was seen around the world.

The pilot allegedly said a phrase, that contained absolutely no profanity, on an airplane that has somewhere around 150 passengers or less.

What does good manners have to do with whether it was done on the job or elsewhere?

Every company I have ever worked for has prohibited employees from voicing opinions like this to customers when on company time or where it could be attributed to the company.
