Especially police, and fire fighters. In Texas, those are the only public unions that are allowed to collectively bargain. The teachers unions here mostly represent teachers during disciplinary hearings, and lobby the Legislature on education issues, and overall are pretty harmless.
Last night was a rebuke of the teacher's unions. They were slapped back for the first time in a long time. Thank god. They thought they were running the show.
Maybe this will finally break the stranglehold they have on education and the students can actually win.
