I’ve been vegan for 7 years. I could no longer turn a blind eye. But it was a process over many years to get here.
If everybody was a vegan then there would be no cattle born .They would have no life at all ..none. There would be no need for any type of animal to be born and raised and able to have a life. Everybody would be eating spinach.
Around where I live lots of people buy locally raised cattle that are raised on grain pasture and allowed to wander, which helps. Plenty of co-workers know how to shoot and gut deer, fish, etc. Most of them always preach never allowing the animal to suffer... like this quote from Chernobyl. I could never work at a meat processing plant... no thanks. There are some humans wired to find humor in the suffering of animals or others. That's not how I roll, but I have to acknowledge certain realities about the way our society is and our species is wired.
Oh I agree. If it were a humane process like a single shot to the head, I would be more accepting of it. Factory farming is horrific. I believe it was Paul McCartney that said if slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.

They deserve more rights.
All animals.
Much better than humans.
When you plow down a dog or a skunk with your car you should be charged with murder.
Not sure I agree with you about the skunk. Likely your tire will stink for 3 weeks and you will smell it everytime you get in your car. That is punishment enough!
Who says animals aren't intelligent? It's a reminder to me how powerful DNA memory is, how clever evolution can make a simple organism, and how in my opinion everything is interconnected. Should they get human rights? Well I don't know about that, and I'm not going to debate it in this thread.
When faced with evolutionary drives to survive is when animal intellect and instinct really comes out to shine... people who give into every craving and live a hedonistic life often feel like zombies or braindead because they constantly dull these instinctive brain chemicals before they can build up to levels that naturally bring out creativity and drive in a person, thus why some people promote things like nofap, no sugar, fasting, and deprivation.
