Nope, that's wrong, too. Hospitals get Fed $$$$ for COVID treatments, not COVID deaths. If he contracts COVID in the hospital and gets put on a vent, the hospital gets funding for that treatment.
Covid can cause heart problems even if you didn't have symptoms and don't know you had it. The vax can also cause heart problems. It makes sense that athletes should have their heart function monitored periodically throughout the pandemic and then some.

Everything that happens is not because of covid. Years ago, I knew a hockey player, in high school, that died during a game. He had an undetected heart problem.
