Whoa...

Vaccinated ice-hockey player Boris Sádecký dies after cardiac arrest

Professional ice-hockey player Boris Sadecky died Wednesday in the wake of his cardiac arrest last Friday during an ice-hockey match in Austria.

The death of the striker was announced by his team, the Bratislava Capitals.

Last Friday, Boris Sadecky collapsed in the middle of the ice during the match in Dornbirn. Even after days of intensive treatment, Sadecky passed away.

As of September 25, over 80 percent of the league’s players had received COVID shots.

Heart and blood issues keep coming to mind when I read these incidents.

It will be interesting after the year to look at the statistics for MI and compare for previous years.

Of course, they will just blame COVID for it.

It doesn't "happen all the time" but it DOES happen.

Local player, pre-pandemic:

Every year a few high school football players in the US would collapse during practice due to heart issues.

So, yeah, it happened before the vax enough that I wouldn't go straight to blaming the vax.

I happened to see this recently and wondered if this is a way to deal with the vaccines.

Investigators have developed and tested a targeted contrast agent that can detect blood clots in the hearts of patients with atrial fibrillation, or an irregular heartbeat. The strategy could be used to find clots in other parts of the body as well, such as in vessels that, when blocked, can lead to stroke.

Everything that happens is not because of covid. Years ago, I knew a hockey player, in high school, that died during a game. He had an undetected heart problem.

Yes, we know that these things happen, but are very rare. It does seem to me that these incidents are far more frequent this year. Of course, it could be my own bias.

What we will need to do is wait for the end of the year and look at rates of MI by age group and compare to 2020 and 2019 data.
