Do the flu shots that come out every year qualify as boosters?

Not sure of the actual definition (I think that it is not a scientific term), but the flu usually contains some of what it did the year(s) before and sometimes a new strain as well. They have been including H1N1 for several cycles now, for example, as it comes back each year and people's immunity wanes over time.

In the last four years, other than my Covid shots, I have had annual flu shots and also diphtheria, typhoid, Hepatitis and tetanus, all of which I had had before. Booster for whooping cough when I became a grandmother.

Covid boosters are mostly accepted as just the norm here. They have only just been authorised and everyone I know who got vaxxed early is planning to get one ASAP. They may be later on available combined with flu shots, from what we have heard.

I don't think there is as much resistance to boosters here as there is to the initial shot. People have been lining up for them since the day they were authorized and millions got them even before that. It is very busy at the local pharmacy and they say they are having trouble keeping up. I dropped by for a bottle of Jack and had to fight my way past the old people at the drug counter. I don't know what will happen when the kids start getting them on Saturday. Gonna be crazy.

Had it all thrown at him. Even the ivermectin. He's just one of those people that had a very bad time with it.

We are in trouble because there has never been a cure for a human corona virus, like the common cold. All past vaccines have failed to provide complete immunity like against Polio. If we need a booster every 6 months for the rest of our lives we are completely screwed as a society

"Show me your paperzzz!!"

"How 'bout I show you my bullets instead?"

I'm hoping for two years in between. But mRNA tech is going to rapidly improve our ability to produce better vaccines. FWIW, we haven't licked the flu either and many of us go back for a flu shot year after year. Like the poster above said, soon both flu and covid may be in the same shot.
