This is the party that supported slavery and segregation for over a 100 years!!! Then pivoted to a civil rights positions as the country changed to support a color blind society.
The Democrats are a party of opportunists and have been throughout American history.

Once the political tide shifts....you will see the Democrats supporting border controls, opposed to climate change, and of course, maybe even a shift to their racist past.

I don't think so, I think that too many are committed socialist leftists and their ideology is their driving goal , times as of now they have come into the light more and are going for all of it, they have infiltrated the schools and universities, much of government, entertainment and media, and are backed by globalists like Soros, they will never give up they might just go back in the shadows more clandestine to keep trying to change and indoctrinate until one day they have the numbers and all key places to usher in a socialist government.
Most Independents & moderate Dems want to move away from the radical left agenda.

Universal Health Care is the prime example of how the left wants nationalization. That is an ACTUAL example of how the left thinks and see's the future for The United States. NEVER, never is it a flip of the switch... it's a gradual removal of freedom. First the blend of private and government services. Then regulate private industry/business into submission, then intervene for the American people on THEIR behalf.

The leftists joined the Democrat party because that is where the "current" opportunity is located for mischief.
The Democrat Party is the Clinton's, Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Joe Biden, the Cuomo family and a host of others through out the nation that protect the interests of the rich.
Just look at the tax provisions that will pass in "build back worse". Lots of talk about taxing the RICH, but really it is about taxing high income folks that work for wages at best.
How could any LEFTIST support the SALT provisions modifications that are being proposed. Notice nothing on the carried interest deduction, nothing on 1039 provisions, etc. etc.
