The government steals enough money from us, they can figure out how to f*cking prioritize things just like we have to in our own lives!
This. 100%.
It boggles my mind that considering we pay income taxes AND federal AND state gas taxes, AND local property taxes, AND registration fees for cars, some of all of which go to road maintenance, and we pay airport taxes, and airlines pay av gas taxes, rent on the terminal/parking space they rent, landing fees, gate usage fees, parking fees, whatever, all of which go to airport maintenance, yet our roads and airports are evidently still falling apart and the government needs yet MORE money so that they can spend the next 80 years building a 20 mile subway line or 50+ years building high speed rail that vastly underperforms its promised speeds using outdated technology.
No. Get your **** together. The amount of money that evaporates into thin air in the DoD alone can pay for a dozen brand-new airports.

The state I am from did it already. When you renew your registration each year you have to put down the Odometer reading. When you renew your insurance they require the odometer statement. Those who use the roads most should pay the most.
I detest New Jersey but I have to admit that their roads are in great shape compared to their neighbors NY and PA. Jersey uses a lot of tolls, but if those tolls are why their roads are well maintained that is a model others should follow.
New York City charges a mint in tolls and their roads are beyond bad. Obviously they don't use their tolls to maintain the roads.
No way. The government takes enough of our money as it is. You want them to take MORE? The federal budget is the size of Japan's GDP.
Maybe if it was conditional upon a 50% tax cut across the board (tax cuts first).
They already have all of your personal information via your smartphone, credit cards, Google, Facebook, etc.
If you don’t want the gubmint to know anything about you, join the Amish.
It depends on how you do things. And if you don't want the government to know everything about you. Vote in people who have your best interests in mind.
