Did you miss the part about Alzheimer's? That comes on slowly over the years, so a person is affected by it long before it becomes apparent to others. In the end, Nancy was running the show.

I think that there should definitely be some age limits. It feels not right in some ways, but in others I don't know. You got these walking corpses well into their 80s and it's time to tap out at some point. Dianne Feinstein and Ruth Ginsberg. It's like enough people, if you're falling asleep in meetings and whatnot it's time to resign.

Only two I could think of at the moment.

The old racist republican guy, forget his name, Strom Thurmond.

The median Senator is 62 years old and the median house rep is 58!
People of that age have LIFE EXPERIENCE.

We see what happens when younger people, like AOC and the rest of the squad, are elected and it aint pretty!

"The fact that politicians still want to be in office in their 80s plus should show their mental decline is obvious."

And how do you come up with this great piece of "wisdom"?

Like I, and many others have said, we KNOW people in their 80'sand try are as sharp as a tack.

MUCH sharper then the likes of the squad!

Related thread... But to answer your question it's because time goes by fast, and the older you get the faster it goes. They want to remain working and relevant because 10 years can feel like a few months...
