i had used other drugs when I was a teenager, nothing was wrong in my life, I just knew how drugs made me feel, although the Heroin use got out of control eventually, I was blowing majority of my paycheck on it the day I got it, Im still surprised I didnt loose my job or get arrested...

However looking back, If i had access to pharma meds that produce the same effect, none of the problems would have become so bad, Heroin is super expensive,(more than gold) and opiates in general are very addictive, but the cost is what ends up causing the problems, people do anything they can to get the money to buy the dope, and they usually resort to crime/stealing.

One thing i do remember from then, when the prescription drug laws took effect, and they cracked down on doctor shopping/opioids, the heroin dealers were over joyed, they soon had more business than they could handle.

From what I see every day and from what I hear from the media and family and friends this situation with drugs is beyond a solution without drastic and draconian measures that might not even work in the end.

America would have to declare war on itself, eat itself alive.

I say just let nature take its course. Disband the DEA, let the drugs flow and let nature take its course. It may sound harsh but the stupid were never meant to survive anyway. Our efforts to date have only made the situation worse.

Americans love their drugs and we have no response that seems to curb that appetite. We have been unsuccessful in arresting and incarcerating ourselves out of the issue. Stopping drug imports from entering is a fool's errand given how many shipping containers enter the country daily.

Drug supply will not stop, you have to stop the demand, and arresting people is not curbing demand.

Supply and demand pure and simple. As long as people want illegal intoxicating chemicals daily things will not change or stop. Yes the sellers and their supply chain is unscrupulous, criminal, unethical and greed driven but in the end it still on the end user.
