I’ve driven through or across every state in the country, and there are highways and interstates everywhere, even in the areas without many black people.
Everything is racist. That’s leftist’s new message. Luckily normal people don’t care about this race nonsense they want good education, a growing economy, affordability, well paying jobs, safety. Most people are not discussing race at the kitchen table.
I think at this point it would probably be simpler to just list things that aren't racist.
Here's all that's left:
- Shovels
- Potting soil
- A certain species of Brazilian salamander
I realize that's pretty slim pickings, but if you want to get in on the ground floor figure out a way to be the first call one of those three things racist.
Everyone who takes a 20th century history class should learn who Robert Moses was and how New Yorkers of his time were okay with urban planning designed to encourage segregation
And in the interest of fairness, I will also point out that in areas where blacks have political power, they will also do the same thing to remaining stable mostly white neighborhoods
This is probably in response to my post suggesting Streetcars are money pits and black holes of liberal stupidity meant to enhance the image of a city but nothing more.
Actually I can't take total credit for this position as Belling was criticizing the streetcar a year before they actually started constructing it (in Milwaukee), saying exactly this would happen... money pit that people won't even ride when it's free because you can get to your destination faster by walking.
Their answer is always more rail this, rail that. At least high speed rail makes some sense.
Don't build based on demand, build based on some perceived notion of systematic racism and just throw government money into black hole projects that never come close to paying for themselves.
There definitely were racist highway planning polices in past decades that put freeways through the middle of the black areas of cities, or cut them off from the main part of the city, and such. I would not expect those highways to be redesigned at this point, however.
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. If the low income areas fall withing the straight line, that is where the road is going to be built. Beverly Hills isn't in a freeway alignment.
So the engineers plotted to go miles out of their way to find a black neighborhood to build their road?

Maybe it's possible that the planners put the road where traffic would move most efficiently?
