There is no question some roads, in some places, were built by design to maintain segregation and/or keep those who relied on public transport from accessing certain public recreational facilities.

They now are thinking about closing down the Michigan pipeline.. they want $5 or $6 dollar gas to hurt our economy and Americans . That included the Biden Idiot supporters who are fine with this all under the guise of global warming as people start freezing in their homes.

Jim Crow segregation created separate black areas. Jim Crow segregation also suppressed the economic vitality of black areas. Jim Crow policies also hampered voting and suppressed political power for those areas.
Because they were separate and poorer and weaker, they were unable to prevent freeway construction through their areas--which no area wanted.
Jim Crow was a continuing problem into the 80s, during the period of major freeway construction.

Plus it really ups the chances of police pulling over a black driver on the integrated roads (counters the tinted windows effect).
