Who in the government told you that?
You DO know we have bases ALL OVER THE WORLD, don't you?

Guess not!!!!

If it is felt it is STILL advantageous to keep them there, they WILL.

If Texas secedes , it will be taken over by the Mexican cartel…they would be drooling if Cruz got his wish.

Wrong. In case you haven’t noticed, Texas is taking a tougher stance on illegals invading its borders than Biden and the Democrats. If Texas ever get autonomy, it will probably be tougher for the Mexican cartel to get into and operate within Texas than the rest of the U.S. under Democrat rule.

“If I don’t get my way, I’ll take my toys and go home!”

Ted being Ted, and playing to the yokels. The problem for him is Texas is changing too. It’s gone from +23R to +6R since 2004.
And he wanted to be President. Was he just going to change our country’s name to The United Republic of Texas

Ahh but to dream.
Can we hand Cruz over to them too?

In reality, Texas isn't going to secede.

Silly. The whole idea is that under Democrat rule, the country was going down the drain (and it is coming true with each passing day) and Cruz did not want to see Texas get drag down with it. If he was president, this wouldn’t be a problem.

Push come to shove - how many Mexican Americans or Central Americans live in Texas ?

You are forgetting, all that defense is being paid for by US tax payers currently, succeeding would likely lower the Texas tax base. Homeland Security, ATF, Federal money, Federal Wall, Border Patrol, and the US military will no longer be helping, backing or assisting.

Texas won't last long without support, too much border and ground to cover with just State money. And if things get bad as you say, then there would be little tax money to collect from Texas residence or businesses to pay for that border patrol.Texas couldn't suck enough tax money from its citizens alone to cover the cost of defending its own border.
