China will follow our lead. They always do. If we're able to make renewable energy affordable and easily available, China will take our technology and do the same.
That being said, we won't be coal free by 2030.
There is no such thing as renewable energy. "Renewable" is a stupid propaganda term. Solar energy isn't "renewable". We can't revive the sun when it expires. And we can't cause the wind to blow in the mean time.
In other words: none of you serfs will have dependable electricity in your homes by 2030. And you won't have a car. Your ass will be walking and your home will be ice cold in the winter and an oven in the summer. But hey, you want to stop climate change, don't you? (snicker, snicker, wink, wink) Now get out of my way or I will tell my chauffer to run you over. Or my SS bodyguard to blow your brains out.
Elections have consequences. "Fortified" ones, even more so.

They want solar and wind, the most unreliable sources of power imaginable.
We’ll need all of those to end our dependence on coal. It won’t happen by 2030, but it will happen. And no, despite what the Chicken Littles claim we will not be huddled in our homes in the cold and dark. That’s just BS.
Meanwhile Communist China is opening many coal fired plants and no one says a word. Kerry flying his private jet all over and he thinks we should all listen to this hypocrite.
