Dem Senator Joe Manchin tweeted these comments recently.
Some call this an "inflation tax" because it's government imposed (by over-spending & printing Monopoly money), and unavoidable....EVERYONE must pay it.
Nobody knows where & when it will slow down, or end. Right now, inflation is at its highest since 1990...32 yr high!
The PPI (producer price index) is at 8.6%, which is even higher than the CPI (a measure of inflation) of 5%, which indicates CPI will likely move higher.
The Feds can't curb inflation by increasing interest rates, because that would drive the interest on our debt even higher. Our interest payments will soon eclipse defense spending!

Trump demanded that Congress substantially increase stimulus payments to $2,000 from a paltry “ridiculously low” $600...
If you think the Red versus Blue wars are the end all be all, you have some very surprising revelations coming your way.
If you are going to blame a President, Trump is the one responsible for the start of the sky high inflation. The pandemic assistance from the feds wasn't needed and encouraged people to not work.
It started well before Trump. I'd say around Bush Jr's first term, when interest rates started to fall below historic norms, creating cheap credit which fueled multiple bubbles that were never corrected.
