If there is justice in this world, one day the 1/6 people who were rounded up and received harsh sentences should receive an apology from the US government, along with reparation for the time they served in jail.
This is political persecution by the Democrats in power. One day people will look back on these dark ages, and wonder how America could have done this to its own people.
Now the Japanese internment camps seems so wrong, but at the time it seemed right to a lot of people. Likewise, I don't expect many to agree with me, because they are living in the midst of this indoctrination and the Purge.
Suddenly, the very far right doesn't care about assaults on policemen. How different from the narrative always.
That's where you're wrong. If you doubt this then ask any rightie if the person who assaulted the Capitol cop should be punished, and the vast, overwhelming majority would say yes.
The Left on the other hand went all out in 2020 in their utter disdain and hatred of police, a year in which we saw the murder of several cops, calls to "defund the police," and even the canceling of children's cartoons like "Paw Patrol." as well as other police oriented programming. The left painted all cops as villains, and the Democrat-media complex assented.
The left suddenly forgot their anti-cop narrative when the Capitol incident arose, using language and discourse that attempted to make it look like all their anti-police invective of the previous year, and indeed many years earlier, didn't happen.
IDK, I had a friend who was attacked and punched in the face, resulting in a facial fracture, in Seattle. My friend was around 130 lbs., and in his late 40s. The attacker was 6'2" and in his 20s.
The prosecutor initially let the attacker go with no charges, But because my friend raised a grand stink, even threatening to go to media, eventually the attacker was charged with felony assault, and pleaded guilty. IIRC he got 6 months in a halfway house.
Why 41 months in prison for this guy?
Was your friend an on-duty federal LEO that was guarding an in-session US Capitol that housed the #2 and #3 people in the line of Presidential sucession at the time of his attack?
Strange that since these people tried to "overthrow the US government," none have been tried for sedition.
Weird.
I'm surprised as well except not totally shocked. For some time now, the government has been lenient with rebels on both sides of the isle. That is except for tearing down statues of rebels from 160 years ago. Now it's pretty much anything goes with little consequences whether it's Antifa, BLM, or the right wing buffoons that stormed the Capital.
I'm a republican and right leaning but have no tolerance for violent idiots whether they follow Trump or are Marxists. Years ago, these stupid fools would have been tried for treason and probably lined up and shot.
